#8Sunday: When Stephanie met Doug

I've been busy getting ready for the release of my romantic comedy, Searching for Superman, which will be out in a few weeks.
This week's snippet is from the book, the scene where the heroine, Stephanie, meets the hero, Doug. Doug is dressed up as a character for Stephanie's niece's fifth birthday party:

“You are not supposed to be Superman.”
“What?” Superman went to the van and drew a paper off the seat. “I’m sure, yup-says right here, Superman.”
Stephanie took the paper from him and crumbled it. “You are supposed to be Cinderella.”
“No.” Superman looked at her with a combination of horror and confusion. “Cinderella?”

    1. Thanks Elyzabeth. His sister (who owns the costume co) sent the wrong character. On purpose. In her words "It was either Superman or you in drag" Doug wasn't happy...

  2. Fun. I'm wondering why she thinks he should be Cinderella.

    1. Thanks Cara. Stephanie hired Cinderella for her niece's fifth birthday party--a princess party. The company sent the wrong character.

  6. I think he's got the wrong party! Funny way to have them meet.

I was thrown a bit at first. My last novel has a character named Stephanie whose father is named Doug. LOL
