Cover Reveal: Searching for Superman

Getting cover art is a little like unwrapping a Christmas present. And, as is always the case with Champagne Books, this one is exactly what I wanted.
So, tada, here is  the newly unwrapped cover for my brand new Romantic Comedy, Searching for Superman done by the very talented Trish FitzGerald:

Here's a bit about the story:
Stephanie Holbrook has finally found a job she really loves: working as an assistant to Conrad Finch in a small regional theater that’s about three dollars and a power outage from being torn down.  Stephanie wishes her love life would be as perfect as her job. She’ll be thirty on her next birthday and she still hasn’t found Mr. Right.  According to Stephanie, Mr. Right has to be strong and brave, with great values and good looks. A guy a lot like Superman.

When Doug Castleberry shows up at her niece’s birthday party dressed as Superman, Stephanie is positive he’s not the real deal. Sure, he’s great with kids and he’s kind of cute.   But he’s just a high school teacher making extra money by dressing up for kid’s parties. Hardly the strong, brave, and drop-dead gorgeous guy she’s looking for.

As the theater teeters ever closer to the edge of disaster, Doug proves to be a better man than Stephanie had ever imagined. Could he be the Superman she’s been looking for all along?

The book will be released on June 3.

Cover Reveal: Sweet Lenora

Don't you just love my new cover?  Me too!  Sweet Lenora is a bit of a departure for me, writing wise. It's a historical romance novella, set in the 1850's on a clipper ship.

Here's a what the books about:

Lenora Brewer’s family owns the largest shipyard in Salem Massachusetts and Lenora, as her father’s only living child, is given free rein to learn the business. When Lenora’s father is killed in a carriage accident, her relatives arrange a marriage to a wealthy investor who is rumored to have beaten his first wife to death. Lenora devises a scheme to stowaway on The Sweet Lenora, a ship named for her.
The last thing Anton Boudreaux needs is a naïve young woman stowing away on his ship. The dark and daring captain has secrets of his own to protect.
When Sweet Lenora encounters a dangerous storm off the coast of Brazil, Lenora and Anton find in each other the courage and tenacity to brave the elements. As their love for one another grows it becomes a force to be reckoned with—and it will be sorely tested.

And here's a sneak peek:

His fiery countenance turned my knees to water. He walked to the desk and closed the ledger, then stared at me with a scowl for a good long minute that seemed to stretch to an hour. I wilted under his gaze. He was far taller than I, with broad shoulders and I was frightened of him and desired him at the same time.

One suitor of mine had been daring enough to kiss me in the apple grove. I remember the kiss as stirring, and though I protested it at the time, a warm feeling had overcome me. It was nothing compared to the feeling that inhabited me now. Heat stung at me and left me feeling pliable in body, my face flushed.

Yet what choice had I but to stand my ground? I straightened my spine and with all the bravado I could muster to my bones, I returned his unflinching stare.
It gave me the opportunity to examine him. He was, I could see, not much older than I. His hair was black as a raven’s wing and waved back from a high forehead. His face was bronzed; chiseled and handsome with lines about the eyes from days spent in the sun. And those eyes! Dark as midnight were they, with a depth one could fall into.

Sweet Lenora is part of Champagne Books Dark Heroes Series. It will be released in July.

The P-Town Queen. Cover art by Amanda Kelsey
This is the cover for my romantic comedy, coming to CBG in June!

Nikki Silva thinks she’s blown up her life. Divorced, funding for her shark research cut off, she’s moved back to Provincetown to live with her father. Nikki’s written a grant proposal funded by a commission run by her ex-husband Ned, who would rather not give money to his ex-wife.

Guest Spot: Debra Kayn

I'm very pleased to welcome Debra Kayn today. Her new book, Margot's Lawman was released last week.

Thanks for having me here today.
Although I’ve timed my blog visits to coincide with the release of Margot’s Lawman, the 3rd book of the Sisters of McDougal Ranch series, I’d like to talk a little about sisters. I’ve had many people ask me why I’ve written a book about five sisters who live in the small fictional town of Pike, Montana. I usually tell them it’s because I know small town, I know country living, and I know families.
What I didn’t know about is having sisters of my own. I grew up with only having brothers. In my research, I found that having sisters was a lot like having brothers, except for a few small differences.
Sisters are more judgmental.
Sisters will cry with you, without trying to fix the problem.
Sisters understand the importance of chocolate and pms.
Do you have a sister? What does she do for you that no one else can? Is having a sister different than having a brother?
In Margot’s Lawman, Margot is the oldest of five sisters. Here’ a little blurb about her story…

It's hard to keep a secret in the small town of Pike, Montana, but veterinarian Margot McDougal and sheriff Roy Lee Hanson managed to keep their relationship on the sly for months. Margot cares for Roy Lee, but the last thing she needs is to worry about local gossip while she's busy running her clinic and dealing with the loss of her beloved father.
Roy Lee can't wait to tell the world that he loves Margot. He respected her decision to keep their affair quiet—until now. It's time for everyone to know Margot is his gal...especially Ryan Martin, her new assistant. He's formed an attachment to Margot and Roy Lee is sure the city boy's unexplained appearance in Pike means he's up to no good.
Margot just wants to help Ryan fit in, and Roy Lee's jealousy soon drives a wedge between them. A wedge that only increases when Margot is roped into Ryan's secret, too...

Multi-published romance author Debra Kayn lives in the beautiful Coastal Mountains of Oregon on a hobby farm. Her love of animals includes dogs, chickens, goats, rabbits, turkeys, geese, and yes...pigs. The peacefulness of a flowing creek across her property provides an excellent spot to read a book on a summer day, go swimming, and catch the ever-elusive fish using a pink sparkly
